About this workshop: This workshop is for anyone who wants to make a positive change in their health. Being healthy is much more than just being free of illness or injury. It’s a state of physical, emotional, spiritual and social wellbeing. That definition of “healthy” does not mean we have to be perfect but instead recognizes a holistic perspective of health. A holistic view of our health and wellness addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual and social components of health. These areas of our life are interconnected. Imbalances in one area can affect others.
About me: Anita Romero is a board-certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC) and registered nurse who worked in pediatrics for 30 years. I received a Master of Science in Nursing in 2006 and worked as a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia until last year. I am also a yoga teacher; I completed a 200-hour teacher training in 2012. I am passionate about health and wellness and have channeled that passion in many facets of life, including a focus on nutrition and plant-based eating and cooking, being a life-long exerciser, my 30-year nursing career, 20 years of practicing yoga and teaching yoga, as well as caring for my own family with chronic illness.
