Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Take and Make Kits
Ages 5 and up

In the spirit of Martin Luther King Jr.’s Day of Service, we are giving back to the community! Visit the library and grab some Take and Make service projects to make at home!

  • Create greeting cards for seniors in local nursing homes.
  • Make no-sew blankets for local animal shelters.
  • Make paracord bracelets for Operation Gratitude for troops and first responders.

Kits will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a limit of one card, one blanket, and one paracord kit per family.  Instructions will be included in all kits. 

Kits are available on January 17. Please return finished projects to the library by January 28.
Do not place returned items in the book drop box.


Animal Crossing
Mondays Monthly 6:30pm-7:30pm online

Visit the library’s own island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Colls Cay!  Friend Code SW-5175-5871-6704. Nintendo Switch and Animal Crossing are required to play.

Mario Kart Tournament
Mondays Monthly 6:30pm-7:30pm online

Join library staff for some evening Mario Kart racing! Tournaments will be organized through online play. Tournament codes will be released on social media on the day of the program. Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart are required to play.

Spark your creativity with our take-home activity kits focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM). Kits include supplies and an instruction sheet.  Additional supplies such as scissors or glue may be required. 
Kits are available on a first come first served basis at the table by the entrance.

SparkJoy® Tidying Event
February  9  7-8:30pm via Zoom

We are excited to host Shannon Huneycut, founder of Spark Joy® Charlotte and a certified Silver level KonMari® Consultant, for an inspiring presentation on what it means to lead a life that sparks joy.  You will learn the KonMari philosophy and guiding principles needed to tidy your home, office, and life once and for all!  There will be a special giveaway at the end of the presentation, as well as an opportunity for you to ask Shannon some questions.
